How To Apply

The four steps

  1. Apply lotion over the whole body from the ears all the way down to the soles of the feet.
  2. Leave on overnight or for at least twelve hours.
  3. Wash off the next morning.
  4. One application will be adequate to cure scabies, but a second treatment is recommended after one week.

It is essential that all contacts are treated at the same time to prevent re-infestation.

What to expect afterwards

Itching can continue for two to four weeks after successful treatment. This is your immune system reacting to the dead mites and their debris — it is not treatment failure. Seek advice if itching worsens after four weeks, if new burrows appear, or if new household members develop symptoms.

Frequently asked

Do I need to treat my whole family?

Yes. It is essential that all contacts are treated at the same time to prevent re-infestation — including household members with no symptoms, because scabies can incubate silently for four to six weeks.

How long must the lotion stay on?

Leave it on overnight, or for at least twelve hours, then wash off the next morning with normal soap and water.

Is one application enough?

One application will be adequate to cure scabies, but a second treatment is recommended after one week.
